Obituary for Alma Jean Nelson
Mother Alma Jean Nelson, 86, passed away Thursday, June 8th, 2017 at Heartland of Promedica at Flower Hospital.
A native of Forest, MS she was the daughter of General Sr. and Emma Mae Bobbitt. Alma was employed with Toledo Public Schools until her retirement in 1995. She was longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church serving on the Mother's Board and various other commitees. She loved to travel, cook, attend play's and musicals, hats and her family.
She is survived by son, Bernard (Janelle) Nelson; grandson, Khary (Adison) Nelson; granddaughter, Kandiss (Walter) Brown; great-grandchildren, Royce Nelson and Marley Brown; brothers, General Bobbitt Jr., Larry Bobbitt, and Richard Bobbitt; sisters, Mae Francis Hughes and Christine Tucker; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist Church, preceded by 10am wake. Visitation is Friday 4-6 pm at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pastor J.L. Jordan officiant.
