Obituary for Margaret Thompson (Vannison)

Margaret Christine Thompson was born March 1st 1932 to Lillian and James Vannison in Lynchburg, VA. She later attended Dunbar High School where she met her late husband Robert Thompson. They married June 1st, 1950 shortly after welcomed their first child to the world Margaret Ann Thompson, then later moved to Toledo, OH to continue their family living.

Margaret worked for Anton’s Star Cleaner as a laundry presser and washer where she later retired. Margaret was a loving and caring mother of five whom she stayed home to care for in her middle years. Part time she later decided to pick up employment at sears to help take care of her family with husband Robert. Margaret was a very holistic woman known for her sewing and dress making, as well as her great cooking skills. People loved her homemade rolls and cakes she cooked for loved ones. She was a very outgoing and straightforward woman who was always exciting to have around because you never knew what you were going to get. However, you always knew she was number one on your side.

Margaret passed away, on her birthday March 1st 2017, at Toledo Hospital. She was preceded in death by Husband, Robert Thompson, Mother and Father, Lillian &James Vannison and siblings James Vannison ,Gaynell Vannison, Helen Vannison, Edla Vannison, Cora Vannison, Roslyn Vannison, Lillian Vannison, and Sophia Vannison, as well as daughter Margaret Ann Thompson.

She is survived by sons Robert Jr. (Reshay), Walter Leroy (Pam), Terry, and Glenn (Alicia) Thompson, sister Betty Mae Vannison (James), brother Walter Mack Vannison as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as, a host of other relatives and friends that love and will miss her dearly.
