Felisha Ann Strode
Obituary
Felisha Ann Strode was born December 19, 1959 in Pell City, Alabama to the late Willie J. Strode and Mother Minnie Brown. She departed this life on March 19, 2017 in her home.
She attended St. Clair County School in Odenville, Alabama through the fourth grade. She attended Pickett and Lincoln Elementary Schools in Toledo, Ohio. She attended Robinson Middle School and graduated from Scott High School in 1977. Later she attended Davis College.
Felisha worked at various jobs throughout her adult life, but her passion was working with children. She was a Youth Corrections Officer at the Maumee Youth Center until the year 2000. During this year, she became disabled due to her heart defect. Felisha did not allow this disability to define her. She continued to work with children as a foster parent. She took many children into her home and ensured that they were provided a very loving environment. This was easy for her to do because of the love and dedication she showered upon her son and grandson, which overflowed to every child in her home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, son, RaShad Strode of Jackson, MS, grandson, Kidade Strode also of Jackson, MS, mother, Mother Minnie Brown, step-father, John Brown, sister, Teresa Webb, brothers, Gregory Strode of Margaret, AL, Curtis “Tarlah” Strode of Toledo, OH, LaMonte “Patricia” Brown of Stone Mountain, GA, Kevin “Karla” Coburn of Phoenix, AZ, and Tony Smith of Toledo, OH, goddaughters, Kaira and Kenya Coburn of Phoenix, AZ, adopted children, Reba and Geraldlyn Joyner of Toledo, OH, Jared Joyner of Duluth, MN., special niece, Chaka Miller-Jones of Greensboro, NC, and a host of loving relatives and kind friends.
