David L. Hampton Jr, "Chef Dave" 61, was born April 13, 1956 in Worcester, Mass, to the late David L. Hampton Sr. and Late Mary “Mae” Alice Hampton. He was educated in Worcester, Mass. David confessed a hope in Christ at an early age while attending 2nd Baptist Church of Worcester, Mass. David relocated in 1982 to Toledo, Ohio. God called him home to rest on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s, Perrysburg location; surrounded by family. He leaves to cherish the memories of his loving wife Sherry Hampton who was his high school sweetheart of 47 years. David is survived by his children, who he loved dearly, and all whom resides in Ohio: Shaiem D. Hampton, Pastor, L.P.C., CFLE-P, (Antionette); Masai L. Hampton (Denise); Shana L. Hampton; Dr. Marcel S. Hampton, D.C.; David and Sherry expanded their family by adopting 7 children whom they both loved and cherished: Ma’Shani S. Hampton; Shyanna M. Hampton; David E. Hampton; Patricia A. Hampton; Damien J. Hampton; Deena M. Hampton; and Lilith A. Hampton; He is survived by 11 Grandchildren; and special daughter Kim Baker, and special sons: Kerri Brown and Chris Love; a host of Nieces, Nephews, and extended family. David and Sherry, were active foster parents for over 25yrs of service. They have had the privilege of rearing and fostering 105 children during their time of service. David leaves behind seven siblings: Eugene Spann (Eunice) of Glen Mills, PA; Joyce Hampton-Williams of Woodbridge, VA; Richard Hampton of Washington, DC; Elsie Hampton of Worcester, Mass; Leona Hampton of Alexandria, VA; Brian Hampton of Providence, RI; Michael Hampton (Victoria) of Hartford, Conn. David was known and loved for his kind spirit and passion for cooking finger-licking, lip-smacking, good, meals. In his spare time he enjoyed sitting outside on his deck while reclining in his favorite chair, listening to old school jams, sipping from his tall glass, while exercising his gift of gab. David enjoyed spending time with family, often pulling out his bongo drums; to have a good time. He will be greatly missed.
