Obituary for Lula Jean Singletary
Lula Jean Singletary, obtained her wings, Monday morning at 12:10 am, June 26, 2017, at the age of 76, in The Laurals Nursing Home. Lula was born in Struthers, Ohio, on September 21, 1940, to Rev. James B and Lucille Griffin Singletary.
Lula was a graduate of South High School, Youngstown, Ohio, and attended Bluefield College, West Virginia. She accepted Christ and was a former member of Reed's Chapel A.M.E. Church, Youngstown, Ohio. Lula was a compassionate, generous, stern in decision making, opinionated , yet very comical and knowledgeable with her responses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James Daniel and James Oscar (April 2017).
Lula leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Myrtis Owens, (caregiver for 16 years), Sue Hill and Ida Belle Singletary, of Youngstown, Ohio; and Ethel Mae Jones, of Liberty, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2017, at 3:00 pm, at The House of Day Funeral Service.
