I grew up across the street from the Gainey family. My older brother and Sam were good friends. I just wanted to say how thankful I am to have met the Gaineys, each of them so kind hearted and thoughtful. I struggled with math and Will used to grab a lava rock out of his garden and show me until I understood ( multiplication usually). He taught a bunch of us neighborhood kids how to collect worms out of the ground when we found an abandoned baby bird as well. His kindness stuck with me and I hope to repay it to future generations in my own time.

I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I wanted to share with you a comforting promise from the Bible at Revelation 21:3,4 which states that tears, pain, sorrow and death will be done away with. We can look forward to seeing the fulfillment of this promise because the one who made it, Jehovah God not only has the desire to do so, but also has the power to do so. If you would like more information about these promises, please feel free to let me know.

"Don't think of him as gone away
His journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days or years.

"Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away;
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost,
And he was loved so much." (Ellen Brennemen)

William Walter Gainey ("Nephew #3) was the fifth of my only sibling's six children. He was a "low birth-weight" baby, but from infancy he tenaciously struggled to hang in there with the big kids. He sought to live his life to the fullest, dreaming big and maintaining high ideals.

My Nephew #3 captured my heart on first sight. Indeed, he was brought up in a loving, Christian
environment in a home that was always a-buzz with laughter, warmth and activity. He was loved by his parents, siblings, grandparents and aunts for his winsomeness and sense of humor. In adulthood,
he was a devoted husband, "hands on" father, proud grandfather, Deacon, and servant and shepherd for the Lord.

William's life has been a blessing to us for 59 years, but God has called him to rest up his journey to a land beyond this earth where there is no more weeping, pain,or day or night. May flights of angels sing him to his resting place... and may our heavenly father abide with him forever. We will miss him but we know he will be safe, because "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."

With loving prayers and condolences,
Aunt Beetie Rose and Uncle Dave Liggins

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". William has left his temporary "earthly tent" and is now at home with Jesus, our God of comfort. May you all cherish the many warm and fond memories that you all share in your hearts and may our risen Lord richly bless you all now and in the days ahead.
