William "Bill" Garcia was born in Key West, Florida. He moved to Toledo, Ohio at an early age.

Bill gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was brought up in the Catholic faith and later joined Warren AME Church, worshipping under Bishop Gordon of Toledo, Ohio. He was a faithful an active member of Warren A.M.E. Church.

Bill was united in holy matrimony to Laverne Hopson for several years, a son was born to this union, William D. Garcia. He later remarried Johnnie Mae Williams.

He served in the Army during the Korean war. He worked in construction, Local 500 union, for several years, Local 3 Bricklayers union and later worked for Ford Motor Co., until retiring in 1993.

Bill enjoyed bowling, he was a member of the Weekend Duffers Golf Club, a member of the Hyatt Allen Post #538, and an excellent cook.

He was devoted to his family and was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and a brother.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory; sons, William D. (Mary) Garcia, Kennesaw, GA, and Dale Williams, Phoenix, AZ; brother, Calvin (Lorraine) Albury, Dover, DE; 7 grandchildren, DeLise (Sean) Simmons, Toledo, OH, Nikki Garcia, Mableton, GA, Domonique Garcia, Kennesaw, GA, Michelle Williams, Killeen, TX, Suzette Musenda, Fort Worth, TX, Thelford (Licinia) Williams, Phoenix, AZ, Patrice Williams, Johns Creek, GA, 9 great grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
