Obituary for Larry James Harris Jr.

Larry James Harris Jr. 38, of Toledo, Ohio was born on May 20, 1979 to the union of Larry James Harris Sr. and Vernita Janice Harris. Larry made his transition from life on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at the University of Toledo Medical Center while surrounded by family.

Larry attended Jesup W. Scott High School. He obtained his commercial driver’s license (CDL) in 2004. He worked for Morgan Lines for eight years. He then enjoyed a fourteen-year career as a cross-country truck driver and worked for MTS Transportation for twelve years until his untimely death. Larry found fulfillment in being a loving fiancé and father who loved his family and friends.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles football fan. His hobbies included repairing automobiles and exploring the latest technology. Larry’s family knew him as a kind, generous, and laid-back guy. His children considered him to be a “super dad”. He enjoyed playing video games with his boys and nephews. He was a simple man who always looked out for others. He went out of his own way to help people in need. Larry was preceded in death by grandfather, Willie James Harris

Larry leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Vernita Harris; father and stepmother, Larry Harris Sr. and Janet Harris; one son, Larry James Harris III; stepson, John White; fiancé, Keyonna Jackson; four sisters, Tunisha Stephens, Stephanie Harris, Lanaya Jones, and Kayla Harris; two brothers, Lawrence Harris and Antonio Harris; special nephew Stephan Purifie; grandmothers, Ida Mae Harris and Barbara
Alexander; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
