Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Walter Day can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Walter Conrad  Day
Walter C. Day was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 28, 1950 to Forestine Kitz Day (deceased) and Millard Day. The village of family, including his aunt, Dorothy Hugh helped raise Walter. He graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School in 1968. "Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog". He enlisted to the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Libbey Glass. He was also a proud member of the Elks.

In 2000 he married his beautiful wife, Michelle Day. Walter will always be remembered as a clean-cut well-dressed man. A very down to earth, fun loving, giving person he was.He was also a man with manners, charisma, and a forgiving and joyful spirit. He loved and adored his beautiful family. He also enjoyed traveling to his common places with his dog Gizmo.

Walter leaves behind his brothers, James Day and Bishop Daniel (Sharon) Day; children, Yvonnie Day-Booth, R.C. Smith Jr, Wesley Koonce (dec.) (Wenona Koonce, Alan (Lori) Aiken, Von (Barbara) Koonce, Alicia Nikki (Stacy) Milbry, Shanelle (Bruce) Jones, Alexis (Barry) Day-Gordon, Alex Day Sr. and Andre (Veronica) Tucker; special niece he loved like a daughter, Shalonda Day-Cross; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
