Obituary for Ruby Sallie (Scott)

Ruby Sallie (Scott)
Ruby Scott Sallie

God’s angels came and quietly escorted Ruby Scott Sallie to her heavenly home early Thursday morning April 5, 2018. Ruby was born in Drew, Mississippi to R. C. Scott and S. C. Hutchen Scott on December 24, 1940.

Ruby was educated in the Toledo Public School System, attending Sherman Elementary, Robinson Jr. High and Scott High Schools. She furthered her studies at Stautzenberger Business College for a brief period.

Ruby began her employment by working in private homes in Toledo and Sylvania, Ohio. She worked at Toledo Hospital and later at St. Vincent Hospital where she was employed over 23 years until her retirement on disability.

Ruby professed a hope in Christ and was baptized in 1950 at New Light Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev C.T. Rucker. She was in the Jr. Choir, Red Circle, Nurses Guild and Senior Usher Board until she became disabled. Ruby was a very dedicated and driven woman; when it came to God and her children. Ruby loved the Lord tremendously and that love was clearly modeled through the love and compassion shown to her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: R. C., J. Lee, W.D. and Eddie Lee Scott.

Cherishing her memory is her children: Dana Sanders, Arveldia Ballard, Jeffrey (Erika) Ragland, Christopher (Sanita) Ragland and Antoinette Ragland; grandchildren: Kedanna Randle, Johnathon and Nikeisha Ragland; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings: Dr. Albert (Sandra) Scott, Shelly Jean (Alfred) Hood, Jurdean (Arby) Barringer, Atherine Gabriel; sisters-in-law: Artheldia Scott, Racheal Scott and Jean Scott; special friend, Rev. Ernest Jackson, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
