Obituary for Carolyn DeKeogh

On Saturday, April 21st at UTMC Hospital, God called Home his angel Carolyn Sims-Dekeogh, 56, of Toledo, OH.

Carolyn was born August 23rd 1962 to Howard & Ida Lee Waterford. Carolyn graduated from Whiteford High school in 1980. She became a Medical Assistant & most recently passed her nursing assistant exam & was a caregiver to the elderly which she truly got a joy from. She married her love, Morris Dekeogh May 20th, 2016 in Toledo, OH. She was a member of The True Church of God of The Apostolic Faith in Ottawa Lake, MI.

Carolyn enjoyed life & having fun. She treated everyone like family & made it her responsibility to take care of those in need. She loved to travel, cook, spend time with family & friends, go to church & take care of others. She also enjoyed painting, volunteering at the cherry street mission & making candles as activities to enjoy with her husband & friends. She was proud to be a wife, mom, and grandma. She meant the world to her kids, grandkids & so many others. Her family was her priority & she dedicated herself to supporting their goals & making them happy. Carolyn touched everyone she met with her positivity & gracious heart.

Carolyn is survived by her Husband, Morris Dekeogh; Mother: Ida Lee Waterford; Children: Brandon Gary, Brittany (Patrick) Walugembe; Grandchildren: Bakari, Brooklynn, Brycen, Precious, Lavelle; Brothers: Darren Sims, Kent (Mildred) Waterford, Tim Waterford, Matt (Belinda) Waterford; Sisters: Debra Sims, Dinita Sims, Gloria Waterford, Darnell Waterford, Stephanie Waterford. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles who she adored. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Howard Waterford & her loving Aunt Mary. ]
