Obituary for Jeffrey Lynn McCloud

Jeffrey Lynn McCloud
Jeffery Lynn McCloud 63, known to friends as "Puggie", began his life on March 19, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio to Ethel Delores McCloud, and Jack Williams of Cleveland, Ohio. Jeffery went home suddenly to be with Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 1, 2018. This was such an unexpected transition. He was preceded in death by parents Ethel Delores McCloud Jackson and Jack Williams, grandparents, Ellis McCloud and Mary Davis Evans, and Jannie Wellington, great- grandparents, John and Nora Lindsey Davis, step-father, Homer Jackson, brother, Richard Lee McCloud, brother- in-law Ellsworth J. Ottrix (Skeezie).

Jeffery accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of First Church of God, Toledo, Ohio, under the pastorate of Bishop Robert A. Culp. Jeffery loved he Lord, and he was a seeker of eternal life with God. He always had Jesus in his heart. Jeffery attended Edward Drummond Libbey High School, and Ella P. Stewart Elementary School where he played football. In the early 70's, he began his career with McCloud Upholstery Services, in Atlanta, GA, were he was trained by the best, his big brother Robert McCloud Sr. He learned how to sew, refurbish, and reupholster furniture.

Later on, his nephews Ellsworth Ottrix (Tino) and Robert McCloud Jr. (Lil Robbie) joined the work force. Eventually, Robert McCloud Sr. and his team made this become a million dollar business industry. The work load became plentiful. Business and restaurant owners from all over the US were requesting to have their furniture reupholstered. Jeffery could build a couch from scratch. He loved finding old furniture, and making it look new again. Although sewing, reading, listening to gospel, r&b, jazz and funk music was his passion, Jeffery still found the time to reach out and connect with his children, and his family. He looked forward to the annual family picnics, and getting to meet new family members.

All the children loved uncle Puggie. He had a very humble spirit. Needless to say that, as a young man, he learned to play the lead guitar, and always dressed to impress. Jeffery loved to shop for suits and shoes. His shoes always had to match everything he put on. He frequently shopped at his favorite stores which were: Jacks Men's Shop, Hanover's, Carps, Damschorders, and Florshiens. Jeffery worked other jobs which included: Robbie Rags & Custom Upholstery, Al's Upholstery, Inc., Custom Interiors Inc., New York Designer Upholstery and Trim. He was a former Carpender at Carpentry and Building.

He is survived by his sons Cedric (Sharita) McBride, Jeffery McCloud Jr., Drue Kameron Norwood, daughters, Martrese (Marvin) Kincade-Rushing, Sondreya "Miracle" Hawkins, Leslie Matthew Hayward, 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
