Obituary for Richard Jerome Thompson

Richard Jerome  Thompson
Richard Jerome Thompson was born on December 4, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Paul and Maedell Mahone Thompson. His heavenly Angels come and took him home on July 11, 2018.

Richard attended Jesup W. Scott High School. Richard worked at Disneyland in Orlando, Florida for 5 years, he also worked at his home church, Garden of Prayer, as a Security Guard and lawn caretaker, until his health diminished.

Richard did lawn care for several homeowners in the Toledo Area. That truck, , Oh Richard, loved his truck, there was no one he wouldn't help move with that truck.

Richard was a Master and skilled dancer and know for perfecting James Brown's steps and moves, especially hitting the splits.

Richard loved his nieces and nephew as if they were his own children. Richard had an infectious laugh, that would make everyone laugh with him.

He was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Jayce (Michael) Thompson and the love of his life of 35 years, Alma Smith.

He is survived by his three sisters, Rosalind Craig, Danielle (William) Lathan, Francesca Thompson; all of Toledo, Ohio; uncle, Charles (Paulette) Douglas of Mesquite, TX; ,stepsister, Dona Young and stepbrother, Jerry Mance; special in laws, Mackaline Weatherly, Kevin Smith, Patricia Smith, Shiela Smith, Darryl Weatherly and Marian Gails and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, best friend and cousin, Jerome Hamilton and other family and friends.

The family would like to thank Ridgewood Nursing Home for the extensive care for Richard, Hospice, for their care of comfort in his time of need and special thanks to Ray and Jerry.
