Elaine was born on July 16, 1954 in Toledo Ohio to the union of Edward L. Slatton, Sr. and Jewel Lott-Slatton and was the fourth of six children. She departed this life on September 2, 2018 in her home at the age of 64.
Elaine was a 1972 graduate of Whitney Vocational High School and went on to nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1980. She was employed for a number of years as an LPN with the Medical College of Ohio Hospital (currently known as the University of Toledo Medical Center).
Elaine was a faithful member of the church of Christ and was currently attending the Ridgewood congregation. Elaine loved to sing and was a former member of the Glass City church of Christ United Acapella Chorus.
Elaine was a soft spoken, quiet person, but had no problem speaking her mind if she felt it was warranted. She loved to assist people who were experiencing medical issues and served as the church nurse at the Harding Township church of Christ.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers (Leon and Edward L., Jr).
Elaine leaves to cherish her memory 3 brothers Jerry (Gloria), Michael and Eugene (Velma) Slatton, 7 nieces, 4 nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, her church family and other relatives and friends.
