Obituary for Sandra Lee Smith

Sandra L. “Sandy” Smith was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 8, 1949 to the late Mae Florence and Tom Smith Sr. Sandy passed away peacefully on October 31, 2018 at the age of 68 in the comforts of her own home. Her passing was not of a known illness, just an angel ready to go home.
She attended Scott High School and Stautzenberger College where she received a certification in accounting. Sandy was also a member of Post Polio Center of Northwest Ohio.
Sandy lived a simplistic and peaceful life. She had a love for music, especially “Earth Wind and Fire”. She enjoyed reading motivational/spiritual books and had a love for playing cards (Spades).
She touched so many people from all walks of life with her quiet strength. She was truly loved by many and she will be missed dearly. Sandy was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. “She truly lived for her great granddaughter, London”, but above all she was a polio survivor.
Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, her only child Tamala “Butter” Smith; two grandchildren, Steaira and Stevaughn Ballard; two great grandchildren, Stevaughn Jr. and London Ballard; sisters, Gloria Jean Johnson, Alfreida Oliver, Jerine Lawler, Iris “Piggie”, Arlinar “Pookie”, Queen “Vickie” Smith; and only brother, Tom Smith Jr.; special niece, Yolando “Totty” Lawler; special nephews, Tony “Smurf” and Chris Smith; special sister, Vickie; special aunt, Lois Cathey; special friend, Beverly “Stroke” Stewart, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
