Mrs. Valerie D. Muthra was born on September 29th,1958 to Mr. Aldyn Smith and Ms. Pearl McDonald in Spanish Town, Jamaica. She attended St. Catherine Primary School and St. Catherine High School. After emigrating to the United States, she graduated from DeVilbiss High School. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Eric Muthra Sr on April 12th, 1980 in Jamaica. To this union, sons Aldyn and Eric were born. Valerie was a licensed cosmetologist for many years and provided home health aid services. She was quick to extend her hand and her house was always open to friends and family. She filled her house with laughter and enjoyed the many tunes of Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, and Beres Hammond. Valerie was involved with the Caribbean Cricket Club and the Jamaican Social Club. She was well respected within the Caribbean community in Toledo, OH. Valerie was also known for her cooking. In fact, oxtail, curry goat, and cow foot were her specialty. She was a loving mother and took pride in raising her grandkids. Unfortunately, Valerie passed away on 11/8/2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Eric Muthra Sr, father Mr. Aldyn Smith, mother Ms. Pearl McDonald, brother Mr. Leroy Chin, and sister Ms. Judy McDonald. Valerie is survived and her legacy will live on through her sons Dr. Aldyn Muthra (Karen) of Twinsburg, OH and Mr. Eric Muthra II (Erica) of Euclid, OH; Step-son Mr. Everett Muthra of Westmoreland, Jamaica; Step-daughter Ms. Simone Muthra of Chicago, IL; Grandchildren Kadyn Muthra, Enyla Muthra, and Eric Muthra III;Sisters Mrs. Paulette Williams (Winston) of Spanish Town, Jamaica, Ms. Audrey Smith of Toledo, OH, Mrs. Petrona Andrews (Klay) of Arlington, TX, Mrs. Claudette Smith-Mackie (Alfred) of Florida, and Mrs. Joy Smith (Brian) of Toledo, OH; brother Mr. Shani Najair (Janet) of Florida; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and loving friends.
