Obituary for Elizabeth Banks (Johnson)

Elizabeth Banks was born on March 29, 1941, in Schlater, Mississippi, to the union of George and Adline Johnson. She departed this life and went home to glory on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the age of 76.

Elizabeth confessed Christ at Bell Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She moved to Toledo, Ohio, in Januaruary of 1966, where she united with Ebenezer Baptist Church, under the leadership of Elder J.L. Jordan, Sr.

She united in holy matrimony to Willie Banks, the love of her life on June, 13, 1963, and from that union, 4 children were born.

She loved her family and friends, as well as enjoying cooking big meals for everyone on all of the holidays. She loved to decorate, decorating her beautiful home to match her beautiful spirit, which gave her peace and joy.

Elizabeth Banks will forever live in the hearts of her beloved husband, Willie Banks; children, Isabelle Banks, Adline Banks, Willie (Theresa) Banks, Jr., and Tina Banks; brothers, George (Geniva) Johnson, of Chicago, Illinois, Lucius (Jurlean) Johnson, Willie (Deloris) Johnson and Sammie Johnson; sisters, Maggie Hood, Clara (Robert) Brown, Anna (Fred) Smith, and Eloise Graham, all of Toledo, Ohio; aunt, Samella Jones, of Chicago, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Othella Johnson, Curlie Hankins, Ella Wright, Helen Hunts, of Chicago, Illinois and Cora Banks, of Schlater, Mississippi; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
