Obituary for Gracie Mae Davis

Gracie Mae "Momma" Davis (Redfern, Chiles), 88, passed away in her home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, peacefully in Toledo OH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 16, 1928, to the union of John Redfern and Lillie Mae Caulton-Redfern.

Gracie Mae was a true Matriarch, who kept her family together. She was a great mother, a devoted wife and awesome grandmother, who was full of life, very outspoken, strong-willed, blessed, loving, amazing, giving, caring, sensitive, courageous, accepting, gentle and kind.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Chiles and second husband, Silas Davis, grandmother, Mary Lou Jean Redfern "Momma", mother, Lillie Mae Caulton-Redfern, father and stepmother, John (Martha) Redfern, sister, Anna Morris, brothers, Lavern Redford, Clyde and Leon.

Gracie is survived by her children, Judy (Michael) Watson, Michael Chiles, Rosemary Harris, Terry (Sigmon) Carter, Donna (Walter) Strickland, Paula Chiles, Melody (Mitchell) Marshall and Kim Chiles, all of Toledo, OH; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; brother, John Delbert Redfern, Toledo, OH; sisters, Delores Milburn, Toledo, OH and Marion Woodard, Augusta, GA; special cousins, Joan Bethea and Martha Doe, both of Springfield, MA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 7 - 9:00 pm, at The House of Day Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 11:00 am, preceded by a 10:00 am Wake, at Keys to the Kingdom Christian Fellowship, AKA, Central Academy Elementary, 2727 Kenwood Blvd., Pastor Rodney Everage, officiant.
