John  Butts
John Lee Butts was born on July 1, 1929 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Joshua and Jewella Butts. He was the 3rd child born of 5 children all who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his grandson and namesake John-Joshua Butts. He was a lifetime member of the Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. He was united in holy matrimony to Florence Mixson on 09/23/1948. To this union was born 4 children who loved him dearly. Mr. Butts was a coach for Little League Baseball in his early years. He loved baseball and did play semi professional baseball. He retired from Sears and Roebuck after 36 years. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving wife and friend of 68 years Florence, children Theresa Baomi Watson (Robert G.), Gregory (Geraldine), Larry (Hasser) & Wanda Jean, 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, 2 uncles (Edell & Jonas) 1 aunt (Margaret) 2 nephews (Carlton & Ralph), Godchild (Cheryl Bishop), his church family, adopted family and kind friends.
