Obituary for Louizer Stewart (Jacobs)

Louizer Stewart was born November 19, 1926 in Spartanburg, SC to Abraham and Mamie Jacobs (deceased). She was the oldest girl of four siblings: Thomas Jacobs (deceased); Ivory Jacobs, Sr. (deceased): Mary Jacobs (deceased) and Doris Sims (deceased).

It was in Spartanburg, SC at the age of sixteen; Louizer would meet and eventually marry her husband of sixty years, Herbert Stewart (deceased).

The young couple later left South Carolina and settled into their new home on Amelia Street in Toledo, Ohio where they had three sons, James (deceased), Bradley and Marvin Stewart.

Louizer and her family were faithful members of Third Baptist Church on Division Street where she actively participated in a number of auxiliaries and organizations.

In 1968 Louizer took a job at S & A Electronices where she work diligently until 1983. Once she retired from the company, she focused on taking care of her family and home structure.

Louizer took great pride in making sure her family came first. If you would go to her house, she would always have a hot meal prepared, waiting for some to partake. She always enjoyed holidays and having all of the family come together to eat great food and fellowship. Known to many as a “ Baking Expert”, Louizer would make a cake that literally melted in your mouth. She was also creative with her hands. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Because she was so good at what she did, people would often commission her to make large Afghans and beautiful blankets. Although Louizer would say she never wanted to be old – she lived to be love and respected as the matriarch of the Bookman-Hughes Family.

Louizer leave to cherish her memories - two loving sons, Bradley (Esther) Stewart, Marvin (Sherrie-deceased) Stewart; grandchildren, Deborah Stewart, Jason (Venecia)Stewart, Crystal Stewart and Ashley Stewart; great –grandchildren, DeVonne Stewart, Zechariah Stewart, Sania Stewart and Javon Reeves, Heaven and Tre Price; great great grandchild, Bronx Micheal Carter.
