Obituary for Gloria Gene Morris (Darden)
Gloria Gene Morris, affectionately known as “GiGi”, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2017. A lifelong resident of Ottawa Lake, MI, Gloria was a very devoted mother and grandmother who loved the Lord.
After graduating from Whiteford Agricultural Schools, Gloria became a Licensed Practical Nurse and served in that capacity for many years. Even after retiring, Gloria served as a private nurse for several area families
Growing up, Gloria attended Zion COGIC and later joined St. James Holiness COGIC under the leadership of the late Bishop William Morgan James. At the time of her homegoing, Gloria was a faithful member of Lighthouse Fellowship Prayer Tower under the leadership of Mother Mae Dupree. There, Gloria served on the hospitality committee and tape/video ministry.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Morris; son, Alfred L. Morris; mother, Adele Bailey; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Darden; sister, Marilyn Smith and brothers Thomas Garcia and Andrew Lee. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Cheree’ Morris of Ottawa Lake MI; grandson, Maurice (Jon Marie) Morris of Toledo, OH; granddaughter, Maria (Vernon) Michael of Stafford, Virginia; great-granddaughters, Maliya Morris, Whitney, Bridgette and Erykah Michael; nieces, Carrol Olinger of Hope Mills, NC and Michelle Weatherly of Toledo Ohio; aunt, Mary Reddick as well as a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
