Mr. Chaka Aki Gaston 39, was born in Toledo, OH March 2,1979 to proud parents, William Gaston and Yeretter Thomas. Chaka passed away in UTMC surrounded by his loving family and friends. As a child Chaka loved sports. He played soccer, football and baseball. Chaka attended Woodward High School and worked for Hickory Farms and Honeybaked Company. Chaka had a green-thumb and enjoyed yard work and spending time with his kids and younger cousins. He would take them on walks to the park and always made time for them. He was the kind of guy you called when you needed help, always there for his family and friends. Chaka touched all of our hearts in a special way and for that we will always remember and love him.

He was preceded in death by his father, WIlliam Gaston ; brothers, Marcus Thomas and Chama Ali Gaston; sister, Tori Gaston.

He is survived by his mother, Yeretter Thomas; sister, Marques Thomas; children, Kiah, Kaveon, Chakaria, WIlliam, and Chama Gaston; special cousin, Ryan Savage; and a host of other family and friends.
