Obituary for Serena Ann Sutton (Gaston)

Serena Ann Sutton (Gaston)
Serena Ann Sutton was born in Fostoria, Ohio on March 1, 1965 to Pinkney and Rena Gaston. She attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1983.

She was the youngest of seven children, the loving mother of two (Eric and Shariva) and a grandmother of four (Aniya, Eli, Wesley, and Shai). She accepted her Lord and savior at an early age, recently attending Walk The Word.

Serena nourished everyone around her with love and faith. She found the good in everyone. She loved to cook and most recently, was very excited about her vegan lifestyle. Serena had many hobbies including shopping, exercising, traveling and putting her creative talent to use on all of her D.I.Y projects.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; making memories and traditions were very important to her.

Serena worked in retail for years before beginning her career in law enforcement at the Lucas County Sheriff's Office where she was a dedicated correction's officer for the past 17 years. She was beloved and respected by all of her coworkers and peers.

Serena is survived by her mother, Rena Gaston; children, Eric and Shariva Sutton; three sisters, Denise Gaston-Bellamy, Zelma Brown and Thawanna Gaston; three brothers, Pinkey Gaston, Alan Gaston, and Michael Gaston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members, and friends.
