Kyngi Taveras Harris was born June 14, 1978 at Toledo's St. Vincent Hospital. She was the youngest child of Johnnie N. and Sherwin Harris. She departed this life on May 1, 2018. Kyngi attended St Ann's Elementary School, Scott High School and the University of Cincinnati. She graduated from Owens Community College with an Associate’s Degree and from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Kyngi danced with the Umuzi Ikahya Community Dance Company during her kindergarten and elementary years. She was also an actor. She performed in numerous University of Toledo productions as well as several independent films. Kyngi was a gifted athlete. She played basketball from age 6 through her college years. At the time of her death she was Executive Director of J & S Harris Homes, LLC.
