Obituary for Christine Bey

Christine  Bey
Christine T. Bey, affectionately known as “Momma Chris” left this earth Sunday June 24, 2018 at 101 years old. Born September 25, 1916 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Mildred El and Bub Turner, Christine was one of four children.

She worked at Mercy Hospital in the housekeeping department for fifteen years and retired in 1978.

Christine was fun loving, out -going, and spoke her mind. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, working word search and cross word puzzles, and telling it like it was. She loved animals and was easy going. Christine brought lots of laughter, life experience, and the hard truth to those around her. She will be missed by all who knew her.


She was proceeded in death by her bothers: Levonia Turner and Walter Bey, sister Louise Clinkscales, and daughters: Delores Lothery and Constance (Connie) McDade.

Christine is survived by her sons: Melvin Lothery, Sr. and Anthony Turner both of Toledo, Lincoln Charles McDade of California, and daughter Mildred Saunders. Grandchildren: Christine Lothery, Tonia(Michael) Helms of Toledo Ohio, Mia (Maurice) Talbert of Decatur Georgia, Melvin (Marian) Lothery of Pine Bluff Arkansas, Erika (James) White of Toledo, Ohio, Narcola Brown Jr. of Toledo Ohio, Fransohn Turner of Lithonia Georgia, Tasha Lothery and Shirley Harthorne of Toledo Ohio. She is also survived by 32 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
