Obituary for Larry Taylor

Larry transitioned to be with the Lord on September 2, 2018. He was born July 23, 1952 in Ruleville, Mississippi.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ora Dee Taylor-Barbee and Araie Cockrell and grandparents John E. and Fannie Mae Taylor and Mr.& Mrs. Buster Cockrell

Larry accepted Christ at an early age in Mississippi and later joined New Prospect Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Jessup W. Scott High School (Bulldogs) in 1970. He also served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in 1976.

He was hired by Standard Oil Refinery (BP) and worked there for 16 years. Larry had a gift from God that he could wear many hats, a plumber, carpenter, electrician, auto mechanic, etc. Larry was full of life and loved to laugh and enjoy his family and friends.

Larry played softball for the Delaware Market, Holston's Market and Hawley Cut Rite and was a former member of the Dunbar Elks bowling league.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory Sister Barbara Banks, brother Jerry (Gladine) Taylor, ex-wives: Alberta White and Kathy Taylor, four children, Sons: Michael L. Taylor, Larry Sheppard, Antonio S. (Yolonda) Russell and Daughter Sabrina D. Russell. Granddaughters: Tanesha, Marchea, Mikia, Ashly, Qunitia, Arianna, RaeAnn, BreAnn, Ericka Jayla, Grandsons: Franco, Michael, Jr., Lawrence, Little Little Larry, Cassdor, Don, Henry Jr., Antonio, Jayvon, and Antonio, Jr. 15 Great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews family and friends. Long time best friend Reverend Kenneth Huntley.
