Obituary for Valarie Kirkorian-Dotson Ali

Print
Valarie Priscilla (Whitfield) Kirkorian Dotson Ali, better known as "Bo", was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 30,1951 to Hazel Whitfield and Saviano Frais, Sr. She departed this life, at home, surrounded by her family to begin her heavenly journey on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

Bo accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She loved praising God, and she loved being in service at Calvary Baptist Church and The Ark of Toledo.

Our precious Bo was always willing to help anyone who was in need, and her smile was so contagious that no one could ever tell her "NO"!

Bo graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School in 1969. She also continued her education and obtained a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing in June of 1975. Bo worked at various hospitals and nursing facilities in California, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois where she retired from Vencor Hospital in 2007 after 41 dedicated years of service in her field.

She married Qaahar Ali, better known as Billy Dotson, who was the love of her life, on April 20, 2009.

Bo was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Jeanna (James) Hasan, Hazel (Lonnie) Watkins, and Saviano Frais, Sr.; her grandparents, Maxine (Andrew) Whitfield and Dorthy (Felix) Powell; daughter, Reecausetter Pernell; sister, Sondra J. Frais; brothers, Dal, Saviano, Jr., and Tony Frais, and special uncles, Robert Whitfield and Manuel Pearson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, Qaahar Ali; four children, Jean and Melanie Whitfield, Warren G. Pernell and Reecausetter M. Pemell, better known as Marie; nine step-children, Darryl Willingham, Victoria Caulton, Jerri Thomas, Terri Dotson, Lisa Wilson, Brian Michael Dotson, Delayna Knabbs, Maria Jeffries, and Kizzy Reid; six sisters, Hilliery Depp, Devon Gray, Sabra Gray, Deborah and Renee Frais, and Keva Charles; two brothers, Kevin Gray and Tony Mac; one aunt, Mary Whitfield; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
