Obituary for Martin Dean Conner

Martin Dean Conner was born to the parents of Jesse Williams and Rosetta Verser on May 12, 1954, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2018. Martin was raised by his Grandmother Ethel B. Early, who he loved dearly. He attended George Washington Carver High School in Luxora, Arkansas. After High School, he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he spent several years prior to moving to Toledo in 1976. As a professional, Martin was a multi-skilled worker, certified as Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) technician, but retired as a cross-country truck driver. Martin confessed his love for Jesus Christ at an early age and remained devoted throughout his life. He often read scripture to his children and his grandchildren.

To cherish his memory, Martin leaves his daughters; Nicole, Martina, Jerrie Conner, and his son Nicholas (Andrea) Conner. 15 grandchildren; Jasmine, William, Jared, Korey, Nicholas Jr., Te’sean, Courtney & Cortez (twins), Dylane & Dylan (twins), Matthew, Erin, Alayna, De’Anna, and Cora. Three great grandchildren; Jayden, Jada, and Noe’l. His brothers; Calvin, Leroy (Martha), Rodney Conner and his sisters; Cynthia and Lisa Conner. Also his uncles; Ruben, Robert, Jerry, Johnson, Elgin, and his Aunts; Terry, Marva, Jean & Patricia.

Martin will be remembered by his loved ones for his great sense of humor, tough love, and his generosity, by always willing to give a helping hand, he always was the first to help regardless of the task. He is known as the family’s “Handy Man” and a huge sports fan; Chicago White Sox’s, Minnesota Vikings, Michigan Wolverines, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Moreover, Martin lived a simple life and never asked for much, but his faith was strong and in God he trust. He truly left his special touch on world and the legacy he leaves behind will last forever.
