Print
Charlie Brown Jr., age 74, passed away November 6, 2018 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
Charlie was born to Charlie Brown Sr. and Susie Wright from Grand Rapids, MI., who later moved to Toledo, Ohio. Charlie was the oldest of four siblings (Evon Smith, Willie “Mickey” Wright and Richard “Sug” Wright). Charlie attended Libbey High School and Owens Community College.

Although the majority of his working career was spent at Unicast Steel, he later retired from Borden Chemical. He had a loving personality, befriended by many, especially here at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a longtime member and taught Sunday School.

He spent his free time at the gym and reading. An amateur at picking his bass guitar, he was a professional at picking and juggin with folks of all ages.
He is preceded in death by parents, Charlie Brown Sr. and Susie Wright; his niece, Alice Brown; and nephew, Tyrone Smith.

He is survived by ex-wife, Helen Brown; children, Anthony Bostic, Patrick Bumpus, Charles Brown, Valerie Bumpus-Ballard, Susie Brown, Kay Brown, and Charlie Brown III; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and dear friends.
