Obituary for Nathaniel "Pete" P Snell

Nathaniel P Snell, 91, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was the son of Ira and Lillie Snell and was one of 6 children. His parents and siblings Roy, Willie, Alberta, and Blanch and son Gary are deceased.

Pete was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War and was a member of the Conn Weissenberger American Legion Post 587. He began working on the railroad at 14 yrs. old with his father. Coming to Toledo in the ’60’s he continued with the railroad until his retirement from ConRail in 1989. An avid bowler, he was in the ConRail, and Young Seniors Leagues among others. A faithful and 50+ year member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, he served on the Usher Board and as a Trustee.

He is survived by Patt Church, wife of 30 years: brothers Ira, Jerry, and Kenny; sons, Eddy Michael, Nathan and daughter, Keala. Step-children Rob, Rebecca, Chris, and Anita. Also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

We wish to thank all the many doctors, nurses, aides who helped with his care the last couple months. He and Patt have been residents of West Park Place for the last couple years and made many friends there.
