Mrs. Patsy Inez Stallings-Swanigan was born March 15, 1943 in Rome, Georgia to Reverend Pinkey Stallings and Effie Mae Stallings. She passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounding by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her father, Pinkey Stallings; Mother, Effie Mae Stallings; Husband, Nolan Howard Swanigan III; sister, Carolyn F. Gates; cousin, Linda Daniels-Hague; aunts, Jessie Ruth Shelley; Callie B. Martin; and uncles Melvin and Johnny Shelley.

She relocated to Toledo, Ohio as a child. Patsy was baptized when she was eight years old at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, later she became a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist church. She was a graduate of Jessup W. Scott High School and later received her degree from Stautzenberger College with a major in Business Administration. Having worked at various companies throughout Toledo, where she used her health, clerical, administrative and project management skills.
In addition, she was a long-time member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she participated in various ministries throughout the years. She was an avid reader and student of the word of God, in which she often shared with others. She never met a stranger and always had time to speak with those who needed a compassionate ear and friend.
On March 26th 1966, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Nolan Howard Swanigan III. To their union 2 beautiful daughters Larena Baily and Callie Stallings Peterson (Willie) were emerged into a family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Her greatest joys were her daily phone calls with family and friends (Joan and Francis) to discuss theBible, local, state and national news stories.

She will always be fondly remembered by her daughters, Larena Baily and Callie S. (Willie) Peterson; three grandsons; Dennis Swanigan, Anthony Baily and Terrell Peterson, 2 granddaughters, Ebonye Delaney and Liana Peterson, brother Preston Stallings (Virginia) ; sisters Sandra A. Crawford, Rosemary Stallings and Loretta Lawson (Wayne) and a host of other relatives and kind friends.
