Obituary for Richard P. Bates Jr.
Richard P. Bates Jr. age 59 , passed away peacefully at Toledo Hospital on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018. A native of St. Louis , he was born to Richard P. Bates Sr. and Louise Garmon-Fisher on August 30th, 1959. He attended Libbey High School where he wrestled. Richard was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a joy to be around and kept everyone laughing.
He is survived by wife, Tonia Smith-Bates; children, Latreese (Louis) Williams, Floyd Barton Jr., James Smith Sr., Sheeka Bates-Murray, Richard Bates III, Jerry Bates, & Denise Murray; brother, Darren Garmon of Tampa, FL; sister, Chinester Bates of Toledo, OH.; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father ,and two sister, Frenshirl Doyle and Pamela Bracey.
