Obituary for Jessie Lee Hicks Sr.
Jessie L. Hicks, Sr. was born August 15, 1929 in Lexington, Mississippi to Tom and Sallie Hicks. He passed away in his home on December 13, 2018.
In 1947 Jessie moved to Toledo, Ohio at the young age of 18. He joined the church and married Dorothy (Ellis). He was the loving father to 13 children.
Later in life Jessie married Cheryl (Hunt). He devoted his life to the Lord, his wife, children, and siblings. He rededicated his life to the Lord and was a faithful member of St. James "The Armory" Church.
Jessie worked for Flight Construction for 30 years until his retirement. During which he enjoyed spending time in his garden, tending to his tomatoes and collard greens.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Sallie; brothers, Rayford, William James and John; children Jesse and Michael.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Cheryl; children, Alma, Suzie, Gloria (Rex), Curtis (Virgie), Etta, Juanita (Tim), Audrey (Michael), Robert, Monica, Tyrone, and Connie; siblings, Willie James, Clevester, Leola, Lucille, Othabelle and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
