Robert Ceil Packer, 84, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a brief illness. He accepted Christ and loved the Lord up until his departure. Mr. Packer was born in Whatley, Alabama and made Toledo, Ohio his home after serving in the military.

He worked at Tiedtke's in his younger years. He then moved to Detroit, Michigan to pursue work at Chrysler Automotive. Prior to his retirement, Robert loved working around his home gardening and also enjoyed watching sports, receiving visits from his children and grand kids.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Henry Packer, Sr. and Emma Seal Horn Packer and eight siblings. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Michelle "Tuggie" Packer; and son, Timotheus "Tim" Packer; their siblings, Dana Slay and Roger Ward; the mother of his children, Etta Ward; brothers, Ocie Packer, Strother (Jetta) Packer; eight grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.


A Special Thank You his nieces, Joann and Mary; his neighbor, Mr. Willie Baker; and Ida Taylor for occasionally helping Michelle with dad.
