Richard Leon Edwards was born to Magnolia Johnson on August 24, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio. He went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019. He attended Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio and worked for the Jeep Corporation. He was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church on October 2, 2011.

He enjoyed the game of basketball, shooting pool and classic cars. Richard lived a simple life. He truly left a special touch on the world and the hearts of his family, friends and many others he came in contact with.

Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Edwards Grays; step-fathers, Allen Johnson and Max Green, Sr.; and step-sister, Lela Rosser.

Left to cherish Richard's memory, he leaves his daughter, Bianka Edwards; son, Lathaniel Witcher; grandchildren, Danielle, Devin and Donavin Brown, and Melissa Witcher; his mother, Magnolia Johnson; brothers, Percy Edwards and Matthew (Michele) Edwards; step-sister, Allean Williams; nieces and nephews, Lawanda, Christopher and Eric Harris, Mila Edwards, Brittany Street and Carmella Hughes, and a brother to the Green family, Les, Max Jr., James, Lettie, Beverly, and Joseph.

Richard will always be remembered by his loved ones for his good sense of humor and his smile.
