Obituary for John Howard Lowery

John Howard Lowery, Jr., born October 21, 1939 in Brownsville, TN to Vanzilla King-Potts and Jonh Howard Lowery, Sr., passed away suddenly on January 30, 2019 at EBEID Hospice Residence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, god father, and god brother.

John was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Doris Lowery and Jean Burkes, brothers, Timothy Leonard Lowery and Lawrence "Larry" McGill.

John attended school in Brownsville, TN. He worked various jobs before making a career of truck driving for over 50 years. Throughout his career, he worked for various truck companies, traveling all over the country. His CB name out there was "Fastball".

John accepted Christ at an early age. His passion was singing quartet. He sang with a number of groups. Two of his favorites were The Pilgrim Wonders and The Soul Seekers. The Soul Seekers released an album with him singing "Working on a Building". When he wasn't traveling the highways or singing you could find him on a fishing bank with his best friend/god brother Sam Hudson. He was also an avid bowler with The Elks and Young Seniors. He was a die heart fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. You could find him hanging out with his friends at McDonald's and The Rocket.

John's memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife Anna, his sister Brandy (Steve) Speers of San Marcos, CA, brothers James (Wanda) McGill of Savannah, GA and Joseph McGill of Fort Wayne, IN, sister-in-law Danita McGill of Detroit, MI, favorite cousin Deborah King, daughter Lisa Lowery, son John Michael (Keda) Lowery and wonderful step-daughter Sherese Williamson and step-son Robert Williams Jr., extended family Lish Caffey and children, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
