Obituary for Nathaniel Brown

Print
Mr. Nathaniel “Bam” Brown, son of the late Ollie Howard Brown and Elsie Ann Brown Cole, both of Kentucky, was born at Riverside Hospital in Toledo, OH, November 27, 1964. Bam Suddenly passed away February 6, 2019 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He is preceded in death by both parents; oldest brother Leonardo Brown; grandmothers Robbie Mills and Nannie Mae Brown; grandfather Huston Brown; uncle Leon Allen; and aunt Rosie Prewitt. He is survived by his older brother Jeano (Charlotte) Brown; his children, Rashanna Moore, Geneva Brown, Danielle (Karrington Sr.) Harrison, S’Neta (Brandon Sr.) Flowers, Nevaeh Brown, and Michael Flournoy. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Richard, Jerimiah, Sherron, Laila, Lamarion, Kiviyan, Tayshaun, Giovanni, Karrington Jr., Kamara, Caleb, Brandon Jr., Gianna, Brielle, and a host of nephews and nieces.

Growing up, Bam grew a love for building model cars and bikes. Bam also had a passion for playing his saxophone, fishing, car shows, and barbequing with family and friends. Bam worked for Spartan Chemical Company as a production worker from May 1, 1989 – March 13, 2006. Following an early retirement due to many medical ailments, he spent a lot of his free time with his family doing the things he loved. The days leading up to his death, he had a cheerful and goofy personality that will be heavily remembered by everyone and will forever be missed.

Bam would like everyone to know that his work here is done. He has received the best call he could get, an offer he couldn’t refuse, for a job in which he will not be returning from. This job comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with his grandmother, parents, and brother Leonardo, who he has not seen in a long time. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where there will never be anymore tears, the sun is always shining and the waters are forever blue. In this place he will be socializing, dancing, fishing, and playing saxophone to his heart’s content. Love, music and laughter are guaranteed. He was given the gift of life and now has to give it back in order for him to receive his wings and rest in a place where he will no longer hurt, doesn’t have a concern about his illness or medicine, where his spiritual food is plenty. He will never have to worry if his family is going to be okay because he will forever watch over us.
