Obituary for Q.T. Cottrell

Mr. Q. T. Cottrell gained his heavenly wings on the evening of Monday, February 25, 2019, in the home of his daughter and son-in-law. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born in Forest City, Arkansas. Some of his family moved to Gary, Indiana. There Q.T. worked at U.S. Steel for a little while before relocating to Toledo, Ohio. In Toledo, he met the love of his life, Agnes B. Gibson. They shared 59 years of marriage until her death in 2010. To this union two children were born, Annette Luel and Carleton Patrick.

Q.T. worked for for Maroff Septic Tank Co. and retired from Haggerty Construction Co. as and Operating Engineer. He was also a great landscaper, an occupation he enjoyed for a number of years. He was a member of The First Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Robert A. Culp.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Lula (Mickens) and Patrick Cottrell; brothers, Frenchie and Shelly Cottrell; sisters, Beadie Lockhart, Bell Long, Vickie Wright, and Ilene Williams.

Q.T. leaves to mourn his passing: his loving daughter, Annette L. Cottrell-Crockett (Charles); loving son, Carleton Patrick ( Beatrice E.); one remaining sister, Geraldine Gosby of Los Angeles, CA.; grandchildren, Mare Nicholas (Qamar) Crockett of North Carolina, Billie Alaina Crockett of Toledo, OH; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Elise, Abigayle Taylor, Christopher Charles of Toledo, and Daniel Luqmon and Ayden Khalil of N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, Sally Washington of Toledo.
