July 25, A star was born. Life for Titus Stubblefield would be much different if he didn’t have his father Tyrone Stubblefield Sr. encouraging him to become a musician. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he moved to Toledo, Ohio when he was seven years old and spent most of his childhood raised by a single parent. His father was a keyboardist that supported his family by playing local gigs with bands and lending his talent in church services around the city.

Surrounded by his father’s instruments such as keyboards, drum machines, and an organ, Titus was a late bloomer compared to his brother and sister Tyrone Jr. and Tyretha who were gifted instrumentalists and singers. While he picked up drums, Titus was also a good singer, but he was too shy to share it with the world. It wasn’t until his father overheard him singing under his breath one day that Titus had a change of heart. His father would always say ‘If you have a gift, you have to use your gift. No matter what, he always pushed him and in time it would all pay off.
An unexpected chain of events caused Titus to reevaluate everything: his passion for music, his career goals, and how he planned to break through the industry. When he was around 14, his father passed away. He was struggling with kidney failure and heart disease but persevered through these health problems with a show of strength and managed to raise three children on his own.
October 19th, 2007 Titus was blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Lyniah Rayne Williams. One of his biggest accomplishments was to have an opportunity to be a father to Lyniah. He knew he wanted to give her the world, so he fought through life to make sure he could support her. He would talk all day about how smart and beautiful his baby girl was. He loved her with every bone in his body.
Titus and Tyretha were inseparable since birth, but after the death of their father the bond they had was unbreakable. Where you would see Tyretha, you would see Titus following behind her. They were best friends. They endured life's ups and downs together, bonding most over their love for music. Titus always believed he was Tyretha’s keeper, always protecting and providing for her. We all can agree that Titus made it hard for Tyretha to date anyone. No one was good enough for his baby sister. When getting signed to Atlantic, he always said, he did it so she could know anything is possible and to encourage her to always follow her dreams. Titus was also the best Uncle to Tyretha’s two children Braylin and Bryson who adored him and looked up to him as a Father figure. Titus loved them both like his own unconditionally.
Adjusting his focus, Titus found music as a form of stress relief and comfort. It was a source of creativity that brought him a sense of completion. Eventually, through repetition, music became a full-time commitment because it boosted his morale so much. He used it as an opportunity to not become a statistic and use it to be a positive light. That urge was one of the reasons he bounced around from city to city as he made his way out West to Los Angeles in 2013. There he met Peace and Success and his career took off. After building his name in the industry, he signed with Atlantic Records in 2016 as an artist/songwriter, which opened new doors for him and added a strong team and family that consist of his Manager/Brother Jason(Treehouse/Atlantic Records) Success(A&R Atlantic) Peace, and Adrienne(Warner Brothers). They were like family to Titus in Los Angeles.
Titus and upcoming actress Anna Osuna met in 2015 through a group of mutual friends, they were set up, not knowing their friends were secretly playing matchmaker. Titus and Anna became best friends, and soon decided to start a life together. They spent most of their time hiking, creating, and pursuing their careers. Together they learned unconditional love, never judging each other, but always pushing each other to become the best version of themselves. They pursued challenges together, and always lived out loud, with Gods permission.
Marko Penn, a name he’s created from researching Greek mythology and pairing the meaning of Marko (which he says means “to be a warrior or to be war-like”) to his penmanship, the Warrior with the Pen has collaborated with a growing list of artists that include Jenifer Lopez, Nelly, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, B.o.B, Flo-Rida, Usher, Ty Dolla Sign, and LL Cool J. He’s a multi-genre artist, where his influences range from classic American rock bands—like Pink Floyd—to hip-hop (Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Boosie.
With years behind-the-scenes, Titus stepped into the spotlight as the newest artist on Empire Records working with Ghazi another brother he gain in his journey.. He’s teased his solo work on SoundCloud with loosies like “Medicated,” but recently scored features with Gucci Mane (“B2L”) and Zoey Dollaz (“Favors”) for R&B songs that exceptionally showcase his graceful voice.
Tragically, his life was cut short April 7th. Titus made major strides in his music career and had such a promising future ahead of him, but God needed him more than we did here on earth. He had a heart of gold and protected his family by any means necessary. Now he’s with his father and at peace singing in heaven watching over all of us. He is survived by his Sister Tyretha Stubblefield, Brother Tyrone Stubblefield, Daughter Lyniah Williams, Mother Doretha Martin, and the love of his life Anna Osuna. Titus was loved by so many other close friends and family that will miss him dearly and hold his legacy close to their hearts.
“With everything I’ve learned in my life, if I can encourage somebody or influence somebody to just dig a little deeper to discover who they are and feel free. When you start to feel free within yourself, I think you start to walk with your own purpose.”
