Mr. Tommy Lee Funches was born to Tommy and Virginia Funches on November 21, 1958, in Mississippi. The family relocated to Chicago, Illinois while a young child. Where he was educated, worked and lived for many years before relocating to Fort Wayne, In., then onto Toledo, Ohio. Upon his arrival to Toledo he joined Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Chester Trail.

Mr. Tommy Lee Funches was preceded in death by both parents and siblings: Mary, Lewis and Walter Funches. Surviving to mourn his death is his only son, Julian Hart, one grandson, Ashton Morris, and siblings: Roberta Crawford, Naomi Funches, Jacqueline Funches, Robert (Hope) Funches, and Nicole (Anthony) Moore of Toledo, Ohio. Edward (Kimberly) Funches of Chicago Heights, Illinois. Virginia (Johnny) Glover and Gloria (Steven) Mulkey of Houston, Texas, along with a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends who loved him dearly.
