Mr. Michael Gerald Duhart, aged 69, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday - June 26, 2019 in the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Centers, Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born July 27, 1949 to the union of Asa Duhart, Sr. and Bertha M. Duhart in Toledo, Ohio. He was affectionately known as, “Boogie” by his friends. Michael was a 1967 graduate of The Jesup W. Scott High School where he had the honor of being a member of the track relay team that placed first at the State Championship. He served honorably in the United States Air Force as a Missile Systems Analyst Specialist at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio - 1968-1973 where he earned a National Defense Service Medal. Michael started his civilian career in the Manufacturing Industry in 1967. He worked for General Mills as a Packaging Mechanic and Union Representative, retiring after 36 years of service. In 2004, he returned to work as a Production Technician for the J. M. Smucker Company. During the last eight years, he faithfully served as the Business Agent for the Bakery Confectionery Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union (BCTGM) Local 58G until his retirement in January of 2018.
In 1997, Michael accepted Christ and joined the Greater St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Reverend Ronald A. McCraney. He was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Pasker on April 18, 1998. To this union one child was born.
Michael was an avid gardener who loved to spend his spare time making the yard a beautiful sanctuary for his family and friends to enjoy. One of his favorite past-times was grilling during the summer. He was a true sports fan of his favorite teams (the Detroit Pistons, Lions, and the Tigers). Early on before his health failed, Michael enjoyed playing cards and regularly spent quality time with his friends. He was a quiet man who was known for his quick wit and his cool, calm and collected demeanor. Michael was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and took pride in making sure that his family was well taken care of and had what they needed to be successful in all aspects of their lives.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister - Mildred G. Ellis; and brother - Asa, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his “lovely bride,” Brenda; Daughters; Lauren A. Duhart and Tiffany C. Sykes, Cincinnati, OH: Sons; Michael A. Duhart, Gerren C. Duhart, Terrell Hall, Brandon Franklin and Robert C. Pasker, III; 11 grandchildren; Sisters; Betty Hinton, Barbara (Harvey) Collins, and Rita Clinton; Brother; Romeo Duhart; God-daughter; Amiyra Smith; God-son; Cameron Robinson, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
