Obituary for Phillip Wayde Topsoil

Phillip Wayde Topsoil, 28 years old, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 30, 2019 in his home. Phillip A.K.A. “Big Country” was born on March 30, 1991 to his loving mother, Treva Renee Banks and father, Wayde Phillip Topsoil. He was the youngest of five children. He was his “mama’s baby.”

Phillip accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior (Born Again) at a young age under his great grandmother, Pastor Mary D. Freelon, founder of Ann House of Prayer. Later, he began attending Faith Hope Love Christian Church under the teaching of Pastor Willie Miller. Recently, he became active in assisting Sister Angela Wern with the children’s church. Phillip genuinely loved and cherished Pastor Willie Miller (Granddad) and First Lady Eloise Miller (Nana).

Phillip had a true passion for landscaping. He loved John Deere and tractors. Prior to his passing, he worked for US Lawns of Holland and also had his own lawn service named, “Big Country 4 Life.”

On the weekends, Phillip enjoyed hanging out with his beloved Uncle Tyrone, Auntie Tonya, cousin Tyla, and her son Ayden, whom he adored. Phillip took to the name “Papa P.” He truly lived his life to the fullest while spending time with friends and family. Phillip was a hard worker with a heart of gold. He had a sense of humor, always cracking on everyone in sight.

Phillip is preceded in death by, grandfathers; Timothy McCluney, Wayde Phillip Topsoil, and his “Papa Roy”, great grandfather Lonzell Freelon, his great grandmother, Mary D Freelon, his uncle, Terrill C King, Auntie Devon O’Neal, and favorite cousin, Timothy McCollum.

He is survived by his loving mother, Treva Renee Banks, father, Wayde Phillip Topsoil; three brothers, Damian McCluney, Robert (Veronica), and Terrill (Chelsea) Banks; one sister Alicia Banks; his grandmother Sylvia King; God Grandparents Pastor Willie and Eloise Miller; favorite uncle and aunt, Tyrone and LaTonya McCluney, Uncle Terrance (Keiyonda) King, and Aunt Trina McCluney; Great Uncle Samuel Michael; nieces and nephews Alijah, Alina, Nevaeh, Jordan, Jared, and Jacob and a host of cousins and friends.




Papa P,
You left me at my young age of 3 years old. I know that my mommy, GiGi, and PawPaw will make sure that our memories will carry on. You are now my angel watching over me and I will be sure to make you proud.
