Cethus Jerome “Jay” Manning II, 19, departed this life on February 21, 2017. Although he was taken from this earthly world unexpectedly, we know that he is now in heaven sitting with our heavenly father. Cethus Manning II was born August 8, 1997 to Cethus Manning Sr. and Glenda Ellis-Manning. Cethus Manning II was the only child born to the union of Cethus Sr. and Glenda. He was considered their “miracle child”. From the day he was born, he brought great joy and laughter to his parents, family and friends.

Cethus Manning II was a 2016 graduate of Robert S. Rogers High School and was a track star while attending. He worked for Fed Ex and was currently attending Penta Career Center under an apprenticeship program for Welding. He loved to work as a mechanic on cars, welding crafts and was always considered the “Playstation King.” Cethus Manning II was an affiliate of several different committees. He was an Officer of the Wardrobe Committee at Calvary Baptist Church. A member of the Youth Advisory Committee at Calvary Baptist Church. Lastly, he was an Advisory Council for Robinson Jr. High School.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Ervin Russell and William Fillmore. Grandmother, Marcella Ellis and Beatrice Manning. Uncle, Winston Ellis Sr. Aunt, Elaine Ellis.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Parents, Cethus Sr. and Glenda Ellis-Manning, sisters, LaToyia Redman and Marlaina Griffen of Toledo, Ohio, Tekeymon Manning of Columbus Georgia, brother, Brian Safford II of Toledo Ohio, Uncles, Clarence(Lazette) Jackson, James (Lauren) Manning, Richard(Peaches) Manning, Michael Williams, Great Aunts, Mary Wilson of Tulsa Oklahoma and Thelma Defoor, Harrisburg Pennsylvania and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
